This October, The Hub has rallied an army of 100 Food Fighters to each raise $1,000 for our mission to give everyone in Shreveport access to a restored life. Why food? Because for many of our neighbors, restoration starts with a meal.

An estimated 827,690 people in Louisiana live with food insecurity.
248,630 of those people are children.
This amounts to roughly 18%, or 1 in 6 people in our state, struggling to feed themselves or their households.

Caddo Parish by the numbers

Households who can’t provide basic needs: 55%
Food Insecurity rate: 18.9%
Food Insecure population: 43,920 people
Cost per meal: $3.65

But we're not backing down. Here's how we are fighting hunger every single day:

1,000+ hot meals served monthly at The Lovewell and Purchased Resource Center
100+ daily shoppers at the Eatwell food store
Weekly groceries for participants in both our VIP and Purchased programs
