Hey y'all! My name is Margaret, and I am PUMPED about this year's Food Fight and getting the opportunity to raise money for an organization that is so near and dear to my heart.
I am originally from Baton Rouge, but I moved to Shreveport in May 2022 where my Hub journey began. A friend *shout-out Reagan* introduced me to the Hub as a way to give back to the community while meeting a bunch of cool people. Little did I know that I would spend every Tuesday evening at the Hub with my new friends that I made along the way.
The Hub is such a special place to me because it allows me to form relationships with the members I meet every week. I get to hear about their day, learn about their life, and create friendships that continue to blossom over the years. I've watched these individuals grow over the past 2+ years, and their success (thanks to the Hub) makes me so proud! My experiences at the Hub have taught me to step out of my comfort zone, while being so incredibly grateful for the life I have been given. With your help, we can make an even bigger difference in these individuals' lives!
Please help me to raise money for this amazing organization!!!
Did you know that there are 39,370 individuals in Caddo Parish considered food insecure? That means that they do not have consistent access to one of their most basic needs, food.
This year at The Hub, we have seen an incredible increase in individuals needing access to food through our ministries at The Lovewell and Purchased: Not for Sale.
That is why this year's Food Fight is so important to us and to our city!
The Hub is on a mission to give everyone in our city access to a restored life, and often the pathway to a fully restored life begins with something as simple as access to food. Food is a huge way that The Hub not only meets the needs of people in our city, but builds bridges of trust that allow for future recovery and restoration.
The Hub serves those who are "food insecure" through both of our ministries.
The Lovewell Center:
- 630 meals at the Lovewell Center
- 75-100 shoppers daily in the Lovewell's Eatwell food store
- Groceries provided for the Lovewell's VIP program participants.
Purchased:
- Groceries provided for Purchased: Not for Sale participants
- Groceries provided through Purchased: Not for Sale Eatwell food store
- 4 meals a month provided through Purchased: Not for Sale resource center
- Provides meals for high risk / identified child victims of human trafficking
The Great Food Fight is a chance for you to join The Hub in the fight against hunger in our city.
JOIN THE FIGHT!!
