Britney and Kristen, the dynamic duo from Metro Aviation (but not pilots—let’s not get carried away!), are trading in their office vibes for aprons and spatulas as they gear up for the Hub Urban Ministries’ annual Food Fight.

This isn’t your typical charity event; it’s competitive, it’s fun, and it’s all about raising funds to tackle food insecurity in our community. Armed with their love for good causes (and maybe some whipped cream pies), Britney and Kristen are on a mission to feed those in need—one dollar at a time. Join them in this epic food showdown and help serve up some serious impact!

but wait.. there's more.

Every milestone brings a challenge for the Saucy Blades.  Want to see these two really embarrass themselves?  Show us the money!

  • For every milestone, donors get to vote on a song that Britney and Kristen have to sing in public.
  • When we raise $2,500 - we will post our most embarassing karaoke videos on social media
  • When we raise $5,000 - we will get a pie in the face
  • When we raise $7,500 - we'll let kids do our makeup and wear a costume around town for a day
  • When we raise $10,000 - we will let our bosses pick the challenge
  • When we raise $20,000 - donors get to pick the challenge (it must be legal - we're not trying to get a record)

ABOUT The Great Food Fight

Did you know that there are 39,370 individuals in Caddo Parish considered food insecure?  That means that they do not have consistent access to one of their most basic needs, food.

This year at The Hub, we have seen an incredible increase in individuals needing access to food through our ministries at The Lovewell and Purchased: Not for Sale.

That is why this year's Food Fight is so important to us and to our city!

The Hub is on a mission to give everyone in our city access to a restored life, and often the pathway to a fully restored life begins with something as simple as access to food.  Food is a huge way that The Hub not only meets the needs of people in our city, but builds bridges of trust that allow for future recovery and restoration.

The Hub serves those who are "food insecure" through both of our ministries.

The Lovewell Center:

  • 630 meals at the Lovewell Center
  • 75-100 shoppers daily in the Lovewell's Eatwell food store
  • Groceries provided for the Lovewell's VIP program participants.

Purchased

  • Groceries provided for Purchased: Not for Sale participants
  • Groceries provided through Purchased: Not for Sale Eatwell food store
  • 4 meals a month provided through Purchased: Not for Sale resource center
  • Provides meals for high risk / identified child victims of human trafficking

The Great Food Fight is a chance for you to join The Hub in the fight against hunger in our city.
